Yuba, May 2018, Elderly defendant cut off a 23 year old plaintiff causing a 45 mile per hour T-bone accident. Plaintiff (with no prior injuries) was taken from the scene by ambulance with a broken ankle and neck and back pain. The responding police officer found the defendant 100% at fault as did seven (7) eyewitnesses. Plaintiff went on to have five (5) Injections (Epidurals/Medial Branch Blocks/Facet) and two separate spinal fusions, as well as a surgery to remove a Lumbar disc and replace it with a Coflex device. Claimed future damages included two more spinal surgeries. Plaintiff’s experts calculated her past and future bills at over $2,000,000. Defense verdict. This verdict was recognized/published in the Daily Journal as one of the best verdicts of 2018.
